Peer Recovery Training Offered

Penticton & District Community Resources Society is excited to offer the Recovery Coach Academy©, a 5-day intensive training academy focusingon providing individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into or sustain long-term recovery from addiction. This training prepares participants to actively listen, ask really good questions, and discover and manage their own stuff while supporting others.

When: September 25th to 29th, 2017 Monday to Friday 9:00am-4:00pm.

Where: Shatford Centre, 760 Main St, Penticton, BC V2A 5E2- Classroom #204.

Who should attend: Anyone interested in recovery support, whether you have direct or indirect lived-experience with addiction and recovery.

Trainers: The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery is a respected leader in organizing the recovery community (people in recovery, family members, friends and allies) to put a face on recovery and provide recovery support services. Their CART Recovery Coach Academy has trained more than 10,000 coaches across North America.

Fees: Thanks to Raymond James Foundation, we can provide this high-quality training for FREE to 10 volunteers. Professionals from private practice, government or non-profit services who wish to expand their tools and resources are asked to pay a fee of $300.

Training Times: This certified training opportunity requires participants to be available Monday through Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm. Participants will have a 1-hour lunch break and are asked to bring their own lunch for the day. Parking is free.
