Position Title: Residential Care Worker

 Nature of Position: Casual.

The Residential Care Worker is responsible to empower and support individuals with disabilities as a valued, contributing citizens in inclusive communities. Reporting to the program’s Team Leader, the Residential Care Worker implements services, programs and activities for adults residing in the community.

Experience:

Preferred minimum one year previous demonstrated effective experience in empowering and supporting people with disabilities as valued, contributing citizens in inclusive communities, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Qualifications:

Minimum completed post-secondary education in a community living or equivalent discipline preferred; Able to pass criminal record check; Able to meet any CLBC requirements for the position; Able to give daily hormone injections; Crisis Intervention / Behaviour Management (Mandt) certification; Valid first aid/CPR certificate; PDCRS Physician’s Report ensuring physical/mental fitness; Computer competent (Email, “Word”, “Excel”); Excellent oral and written communication skills; Food Safe and WHMIS certificates; Valid BC Class 5 or Class 4 driver’s permit, as required; Current driver’s abstract; Use of own safe, reliable vehicle with “business-use” vehicle insurance.

Wage Rate:

$17.47 per hour awake, $14.97 asleep. This position does not qualify for health & welfare benefits coverage.

Shift Schedule/Hours per Week

Days, evenings, nights, weekends, as scheduled
